This session presents a practical implementation of monostatic integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) using an OCUDU-based 5G NR network and software-defined radio hardware. We demonstrate how an operational 5G downlink waveform can be reused for radar sensing without requiring a dedicated radar waveform or a cooperating UE. The presentation will cover the system architecture, acquisition of a local transmit reference, synchronization, OFDM-based channel estimation, and range-Doppler processing. We will also share experimental results from real-world sensing tests involving people, vehicles, and drones, along with practical lessons learned while extending an open-source 5G RAN platform beyond communications.
